Workshops: Visual Storytelling

Last week, I hosted my very first workshop — something I’ve dreamed about, avoided, circled around, and finally said yes to. And honestly? It lit a fire in me. It reminded me how much I need creativity and inspiration too, and it helped me find clarity in my own strategy going forward.

We didn’t talk about the algorithm.

We didn’t talk about aesthetics or the “five best hacks” to grow your Instagram.

Instead, we connected our ideas with our businesses and looked at how we can build a story around our brand: something with depth, personality, and purpose. Something that feels like who we are.

One of my favourite parts was taking everyone through some creators who do this well. I shared Ffern because they’re such a great example of building a world around what they make. Instead of “we make perfume, buy our perfume,” they create this sensory experience: smells, sounds, play, texture.

The attendees’ business ideas included a gorgeous holiday cottage on the Isle of Skye, helping women learn how to do DIY, getting children outdoors, and someone who is right at the beginning of their business journey, exploring what’s next.

I want to highlight that content is supposed to be exciting, fun, and a creative outlet — not a burden!
